Racing or Performance?
Remember the DS 3 Racing and Performance? Those hot versions of the ancestor of the current DS 3 date from another era with their horny petrol engines, but seem to find a spiritual successor in the form of a sporty top version of the electric DS 3 E-Tense.
The electric DS 3 E-Tense is more than adequately motorized with its 156 hp and 260 Nm powerful electric motor. In 9 seconds you are with it from a standstill at a speed of 100 km / h and its top speed of 150 km / h can only be legally tested in Germany. For those who want more, DS seems to be working on a sportier variant of the DS 3 E-Tense. On this set of espionage photos we see the first signs of life.
The Citroen DS3 Racing
The DS 3 E-Tense photographed in Spain in these photos is not just any DS 3 E-Tense. It has a partly taped muzzle and a front bumper that, given its color, clearly does not belong to this example. DS is up to something, for example, given the wider alloy wheels with apparently quite potent brakes behind them. Also striking: the vertical LED strips in which the daytime running lights are housed are different and in particular thinner than those of the well-known DS 3 E-Tense.
DS may breathe new life into an old sports label with a sportier version of the DS 3 E-Tense. The DS3 as it was still under the Citroën flag was available as a 208 hp Racing. After DS was detached from Citroën, that car went through life as DS 3 Performance.
