There’s finally a new rumor about the foldable iPhone coming in 2023. Unfortunately: it will probably take a while before we actually get an iPhone with such a bendable screen.
Rumor: foldable iPhone by the end of 2023
According to the rumors, you have to be patient at least until the end of 2023 for a foldable iPhone. But display analyst Ross Young says it will likely be until 2024 before we can expect a rollout of the bendable iPhone.
The rumors about a foldable iPhone have been circulating for some time, but in recent months it has become quite quiet around the foldable. Yet Ming-Chi Kuo also believes that the foldable iPhone is really coming. Ming-Chi Kuo is a well-known name in the iPhone rumor world. He works as an analyst for an investment bank and usually bases his claims on messages from the production chain.
Earlier this year, Kuo said that Apple is working on a ‘foldable iPhone’. This iPhone will have an 8-inch OLED screen and will use nanowire. This material is very flexible and can be ‘folded’. Apple already uses nanowire for the touchscreen of the HomePod.

Next trend among smartphones: foldability
Kuo also thinks that every manufacturer should have a smartphone with a foldable screen in its range. Now you still stand out with a foldable device, but within a few years it may be the most normal thing in the world.
At least, that’s what Kuo thinks. He writes that the boundaries between laptops, tablets and phones will become even more blurred. As a result, the software would ultimately become very important: how well does everything work together?
Foldable iPhone: two types possible
Since 2016, we’ve been seeing stories about Apple researching an iPhone with a foldable screen. Apple has a choice of two types of bendable iPhones.
