The latest KB4058258 update for OS version 1709 may have installation issues. But the operation remains possible.
Microsoft released a new cumulative update for Windows 10 version 1709 in early February, the Fall Creators Update. Normally, this update KB4058258 is downloaded and installed automatically by Windows Update, but there is a possibility that the installation may go wrong and result in error 0x80073715, the code of which gives absolutely no indication of the problem. If this happens to you, it is possible to have a successful installation by following the steps below. However, these maneuvers require a good knowledge of the Microsoft OS.
1 – Download the update KB4058258
Go to the catalog.update.microsoft.com download site. Type KB4058258 in the search box and validate with Enter. Click the Download button for the x86 or x64 version, depending on whether your version of Windows 10 is 32-bit or 64-bit (use the key sequence

2 – Uninstall the update KB4056892
Type update in the search box near the Start button. Click on Windows Update Settings in the results list. Then click on View history of installed updates, then on Uninstall updates.

In the Windows section, double-click the line that says KB4056892. The operation will take a few minutes and require restarting the machine.

3 – Repair the component store files
Right click on the Start button and click Windows PowerShell (admin) in the list. Type the command Dism.exe / online / Cleanup-Image / StartComponentCleanup and validate with Enter. The operation will take a few minutes.

4 – Manually install the new update
Launch the file explorer and go to the folder Downloads. Double click on the file .msu that you downloaded in step 1. Accept the various requests to install the update. Your computer will then restart.
