Wuling Victory is luxurious Chinese ballroom

The number of real MPVs that you can still buy in the Netherlands is steadily declining. In China, the practical body style is still popular. The Chinese manufacturer Wuling now presents the Victory to the world.

SAIC-GM-Wuling is a partnership established in 2002 between General Motors and the Chinese carmaker SAIC, which adds a completely new MPV to its delivery program with this Victory.

The Victory is a 4.88 meter long MPV that is 1.88 meters wide and 1.7 meters high. The wheelbase is a generous 2.8 meters. With those dimensions, the Victory is slightly wider, but especially a little ten centimeters longer than an MPV like the Ford S-Max. The new Chinese MPV seems to be positioned relatively high in the market by Wuling. For example, the Victory is equipped with LED matrix viewers, which are mounted one floor below the thin LED daytime driving lighting. The sharp muzzle suggests that the butt part of the Victory also looks quite eccentric, but it is just a bit less extravagant.

The interior of the Victory has been designed entirely according to current trends. We see a dashboard consisting of various layers from which a digital infotainment screen more or less appears to stick out. In the middentunnel there are hardly any buttons to be seen, only next to the automatic gear stick we observe a number of physical buttons. It seems that the majority of functions can be controlled via the central screen or via touch-sensitive buttons. Incidentally, the Wuling is not a seven-seater, but offers space for six passengers thanks to three rows of two seats each. Those who take a seat in the middle row of seats have a spacious seat. These seats are equipped with footstools and if the rear seat folds away, the seats can even shift over a distance of more than half a meter.

Wuling Victory

It is not yet known which engines Wuling is spooning into the Victory. Whether that is relevant is still the question. After all, European asphalt does not get the car under its wheels through official sales channels. To be honest, could a giant MPV like this be an attractive travel companion for you?
