Apple has announced iOS 26! With the update, the operating system gets a new interface, where Liquid Glass is introduced. Almost all applications therefore get a new design, but that is not nearly everything. Apple provides a number of applications with a new layout. One of these is the camera app, which looks completely different in iOS 26. Now it appears that the renewed camera app offers a solution for a dirty lens of your iPhone.
Apple has made the lenses of the iPhone bigger in recent years. The advantage of this is that camera quality has been greatly improved, but the lenses also get dirty faster. This can ensure that photos or videos are detached. Certainly with little light you sometimes do not see it clearly that it is a dirty lens, but Apple has now devised a handy solution for that. From iOS 26 you will receive notifications to clean your lenses.
Camera app
Does the iPhone register a polluted lens? In that case you will receive a notification from iOS 26 if you use the camera. The iPhone then indicates that the lens must be cleaned before you take a photo or video. In this way Apple in iOS 26 prevents photos and videos from failing due to a dirty lens. The notification also says whether you should clean the front or rear camera.
In addition to the detection of dirty lenses, the camera app will get more new features. For example, Apple adds a menu bar at the bottom of the application, in which the video and photo functions are separated. This menu bar has the new design with Liquid Glass, causing the interface of iOS 26 to shut in in the camera app. In the next software version, the camera app of your iPhone looks very different.
Release of iOS 26
Recognizing a dirty lens is not part of Apple Intelligence. This means that the new function of the camera is also available on iPhones, which have no support for all new AI functions.
