Xiaomi is working on a foldable competitor for Galaxy Z Flip 3

Xiaomi may have plans to launch a foldable phone in clamshell form. It concerns a new patent application with a drawing that is reminiscent of phones such as the Galaxy Z Flip 3 from Samsung and the Motorola Razr.

In 2019, Motorola was the first smartphone manufacturer to come up with the idea of ​​bringing a foldable smartphone to the market that works like an old-fashioned flip phone, a clamshell model. The Razr became a fact and one year later Samsung followed suit with the first Galaxy Z Flip.

This year only Samsung released such a device again, but it seems that Xiaomi does not want to be left behind. The device folds in the same way, but there’s also room for a small second screen on the outside of the case next to the two cameras. At the moment, details about this foldable phone are still very scarce, because it is only a patent. We should also emphasize that a patent application is therefore not yet proof that Xiaomi will actually market such a phone.
