Do you no longer use Spotify as often or do you want to switch to another music streaming service? Then you would do well to cancel your current subscription, so that you can be sure that you are not paying monthly for things you do not use. This is how you can cancel Spotify.
You think Spotify is too expensive, you miss a certain offer, think that developing new functions takes too long or you share an account with friends or family with another music streaming service. There are plenty of reasons to consider why you might want to cancel Spotify’s paid subscription. But how exactly do you do that? Fortunately, it is not very difficult, provided you have just purchased a separate subscription.
This is how you cancel Spotify
Whatever your reason is, it doesn’t matter of course. That is why we immediately look at how to cancel your account.
- Go to the Spotify’s website and login with your account.
- Log in with the same account details you set up when you created it. This is also the data with which you log in to the apps on desktop and mobile devices. Have you linked your Facebook? Then you can log in with your Facebook account.
- Click on the button to the right of the website Profile. Then click Account. It is also possible that after logging in you immediately on Account overview ends up. That’s the page you need to be.
- On the left side of the menu you will see a number of options. click on Available Subscriptions. The top option is the subscription you are currently using. Now scroll all the way down, until you see the button on the right Cancel Premium sees standing.
Now you come to a page where Spotify still tries to convince you to keep the subscription. The service warns you that you will hear advertisements every 15 minutes and that all your downloaded songs will no longer be available. Very annoying of course, but irrelevant if you switch to Deezer, Tidal, Apple Music or YouTube Music, for example. You can now choose to proceed with the cancellation (black button) or cancel the cancellation.
And what about Spotify at KPN?
Did you purchase Spotify from KPN? Then you have to cancel in a different way. Unfortunately, you cannot arrange this at Spotify itself, but you can do that on the KPN website. You do that as follows:
- Log in with your KPN ID on the KPN website
- Under Products you choose Home or Mobile product
- click on [Wijzig uw pakket en of extra opties]
- below [Internet] remove the check mark at Spotify Premium or Family (this will also change your monthly amount on the right of the screen)
- Click Next and indicate that you agree with the changes; it can take up to a month before the subscription is cancelled
