Techzle 43 will be in the shops from tomorrow, time to read what you can expect this week in our packed magazine.
Of course there are many interesting tests in Techzle this week, but one stands out anyway. We drove with the brand new Rolls-Royce Ghost. The hitherto most popular car in the brand’s history is going its own way now that it is built on its own base from the Phantom. Of course, various luxury gadgets ensure that the Ghost has been taken to a higher level in terms of experience. Which shows that, Jan Lemkes tells you. Last week there was also attention for the Cupra Formentor, but there is also SUV news from parent brand Seat. The Tarraco is now also available as FR. Previously that was really a sportier version, now it is only a performance level with some sporty touches. What else does it offer? Time to find out.
Anyone who thinks that only large and (relatively) expensive cars have been put to the test is wrong. Naturally, the new stuff for the smaller fair also gets attention. Our Hyundai i10 endurance tester can prove itself against a veteran who, thanks to hybrid technology, must be up to date again: the Fiat Panda. On an electrical level, there is an introduction to a new Chinese entry; the Xpeng. Although this manufacturer has a very Asian name, there are ambitions to storm the European market. It is therefore high time to investigate whether that has a chance of success.
Lovers of Klokje Rond unfortunately have to disappoint this week, but in its place there is once again an older car with a special engine conversion in the spotlights! Johan Muter’s Mercedes-Benz 190 has a lot more cylinders under the hood than originally. A conversion that many believe would be impossible, but it still managed to do it. What is now roaring in the front of the 190, we will keep a secret for a while.
Another used car where we focus on the engine is the BMW 116i that is on the rollers this week. This has the infamous 1.6 THP of PSA under the hood, but has been spared the biggest problem to date. Unfortunately, however, there seems to be something lurking, just now that he can prove what power is still available.
This and more can all be read in the latest Techzle, which will be in stores this week from Wednesday. Would you rather not go out? Order from the easy chair the latest number. Then he will arrive on the doormat within two working days.
