You can read this in AutoWeek 47

AutoWeek 47 will be in stores from tomorrow or will fall on your doormat this week. There is no shortage of cool cars in this issue. The Cupra Formentor VZ5, the Maserati Levante GT Hybrid and especially the Toyota GR86 offer a lot of fun. You will find sober, compact cars in our trio test of three B-segmenters.

If you are part of a large group as a small brand, you can now and then shop in the parts warehouse of your colleagues. For example, the five-cylinder of the Audi RS3 ended up in the nose of the Cupra Formentor VZ5, which turned into a real fun factory. Editor-in-chief Damiaan Hage drove it!

Maserati Levante

Another thick SUV that was pre-eminently available with large engines is the Maserati Levante. We say ‘was’, because now the Levante is also available with a mild-hybrid four-cylinder. That makes it quite interesting on paper for the Dutch market. Jan Lemkes looks at what the possible concessions are if you go shopping for a Levante for a blow less money.

The Toyota GR86 is of a completely different order. It has ‘just’ again a boxer engine in its nose, which is stronger than that in the GT86. Other than that, the recipe remains quite similar. We don’t have to be sad about that, Roy Kleijwegt discovers. He made the first meters in the new sports coupe.

Toyota Yaris, Volkswagen Polo, Peugeot 208 trio B-segment

If you are not looking for a sporty coupe or a thick SUV, but if you just want a versatile compact hatchback, then the choice has become a bit more difficult. Volkswagen has given the Polo a refresher, which means that success numbers such as the Toyota Yaris and Peugeot 208 can make their chests wet. However?

As you can see in the main photo, two family members also meet each other this week. Our Mercedes-Benz C-Class endurance tester meets its ancestor: the first C-Class. A lot has changed in the past 28 years, it becomes clear when we are on the road simultaneously with the two.

BMW M5 E39 Clock Round

Also on the used car pages of AutoWeek 47 there is attention for cars with a sporty character. What about the BMW M5 (E39) that you see above on the bridge at Carrec Technocenter? A very impressive car in its time, which still inspires awe 21 years later. You just have to dare to buy another one at this age, especially when there is almost 3.5 tons on the counter. Let’s see how much life is left in the M5 now.

In any case, there is still a lot of life in it, is the Lotus Exige S by Sacha Both. Her white Brit is only a few years old. We are especially curious about Sacha’s motives for putting an Exige in front of the door.

All that and more can be read in the latest AutoWeek. It will be in stores from Wednesday this week. Would you rather not go out? Order from the comfort of your home the latest number. Then it will be delivered to your doorstep within two working days.
