Zero Motorcycles has announced that they move important head office functions from Scotts Valley (California) to the European headquarters in the Netherlands. This makes the Netherlands the new global headquarters of the American brand.
According to Zero, the choice for the Netherlands is a logical step: Europe is currently the fastest growing market for electric two -wheelers and has been the engine behind Zero’s international expansion for some time. From the new central hub, cooperation between the worldwide teams must be strengthened and the growth pace further up.
US remains important, R&D in California
Despite the shift of the head office, the American market remains a spearhead, according to Zero. The factory in Scotts Valley also remains the center for R&D and Engineering. The company emphasizes that the development of motorcycles and powertrains will also remain firmly anchored in California in the future. Only the non-technical functions and departments move to the Netherlands.
$ 50 million extra investment
To support the transformation, the largest shareholder of Zero will allocate $ 50 million extra financing. This means that the brand wants to secure its leading position in the market and achieve sustainable growth.
CEO Sam Paschel sees the move as a logical next step:
“Zero has been leading the road in the field of electric motorcycles for almost twenty years. Now that Europe determines the pace at which EVs conquer their place, this step enables us to respond to the needs of customers worldwide faster and more efficiently.”
New phase
With the move from the head office to the Netherlands, a new chapter is coming for Zero. The brand wants to further accelerate its international growth and further strengthen its position as a global market leader in electric motorcycles.
