With the ING app you can arrange banking affairs via mobile phone or tablet. You must activate the free app first.
Activate ING Mobile Banking
The ING Mobile Banking app can be downloaded for free in the App Store for iPads and iPhones and the Play Store for Android devices. Before you can use it, you must request an activation code on the ING site. In this tip you can read how to start using the app for the first time after downloading.
- Tap the app icon.
- ING asks whether you are already an ING customer. Tap on Of course.
- The bank will now ask whether you are already using the app on another phone or tablet. We assume that this is not the case. Tap on No not yet.
- ING wants to know whether you want to use the app for private or business purposes. Tap on private person.
- Take your debit card with you. In the next screen you must enter your account number, card number and some other information. If you have several accounts with ING, you can use the details of one of those accounts.
- Tap the various input boxes and enter the requested information. You can choose the requested data using a sliding menu at the bottom. Always send the data with a tap OK.
- Have you filled in everything? Tap on Send.
- The next step consists of two parts. First you request a TAN code via SMS or copy it from the list. Then you request a confirmation code on the site. Tap on Request the TAN code.
- The internet app opens with the ING site. Log in with your username and password.
- Tap on login.
- ING’s banking site opens. An overview of your mobile devices may open. On the correct device, tap Activate.
- A TAN code will be sent to you via SMS or you will see the sequence number of the list on the screen. Enter the TAN code.
- Tap on Send.
- You will now see a confirmation code. Open the app.
- Tap on Enter confirmation code.
- Enter the confirmation code.
- Tap on OK.
- You see the conditions. Tap on Accept.
- Enter a five-digit passcode. This will be the access code to login.
- Type the code again to confirm.
- The app opens and you are logged in. A message will appear if you want notifications about credits and debits. Tap on Not now.
Now you can use the app anywhere you want as long as there is internet access on your device. For safety, we recommend that you only do this via the home WiFi network and/or mobile internet. Free networks, such as at airports in restaurants or at the campsite, are prone to fraud. It is better not to bank with the app via these networks.
