Change your Gmail/Google account password every now and then.
Email security
Always secure mail accounts with a strong password. This prevents others from easily finding out the password. It is therefore also wise to change your password every now and then. This way you don’t give criminals a chance.
Change password (PC)
Change your password like this:
- surf to myaccount.google.com
- Log in with your details if necessary.
- Click on the left Personal information.
- click on password.
- Log in again.
- Now think of a good password. Google wants you to use a minimum of eight characters.
- Enter the new password below again for verification.
- click on change Password.
The password has been changed. Google will send an email with the title “Security Notice” for verification. It says that the password has just been changed.
Change password (Android)
Change the password on an Android device like this:
- Open the app Institutions.
- Swipe up and tap google.
- Tap on google account.
- Tap at the bottom left Menu.
- Tap on Security.
- Under ‘Sign in to Google’, tap password.
- Enter your current password again.
- Tap on Next one.
- Now think of a good password. Google wants you to use a minimum of eight characters.
- Enter the new password below again for verification.
- Tap on change Password.
- Now close the settings.
Google will send an email with the title “Security Notice” for verification. It says that the password has just been changed.
Change password (iOS)
Change the password on an iPad or iPhone like this:
- Open the Gmail app.
- Tap the colored dot at the top right.
- Tap Je manage google account.
- Tap at the bottom left Menu.
- Tap on Security.
- Under ‘Sign in to Google’, tap password.
- Enter your current password again.
- Tap on Next one.
- Now think of a good password. Google wants you to use a minimum of eight characters.
- Enter the new password below again for verification.
- Tap on change Password.
Google will send an email with the title “Security Notice” for verification. It says that the password has just been changed.
