According to a reliable source, the iPhone 2022 has a 48 megapixel camera. Apple would release two sizes next year: 6.1 and 6.7 inches. A compact 2022 iPhone will therefore not be available.
‘iPhone 2022 camera has 48 megapixels’
The rumors are from Ming-Chi Kuo. This resource regularly shares accurate information about unannounced Apple products. In a new note to investors, which has been viewed by MacRumors, he shares his expectations for next year’s iPhones.
Kuo writes that the high-end 2022 iPhone will get a 48 megapixel main camera. This shoots pictures in 12 megapixel resolution by compressing the pixels. This improves the photo quality and colors, for example, stand out better.
Furthermore, the iPhone 2022, which may be called iPhone 14, would have the ability to shoot videos in 8K resolution. The iPhone 12 stuck at 4K. Kuo thinks only the 2022 Pro models will be able to shoot videos in 8K.
Not entirely coincidentally, many augmented and mixed reality applications use resolutions of between 8K and 16K. The usually reliable source therefore thinks that Apple will invest heavily in these technologies next year.
Kuo: No iPhone 14 mini on the way
Kuo also claims that Apple next year no compact iPhone. Instead, Apple would release a total of four phones with two screen sizes: 6.1 and 6.7 inches.
According to Kuo, these are two entry-level models and two Pro models. Apple is currently using this tactic as well. The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini are entry-level models, while the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max target demanding users.
Several market studies indicate that the iPhone 12 mini is not selling as well as expected. As a result, Apple may be thinking of scrapping a compact model in the future.
