Stellantis factory in Poland to build 12.5 million cars

The Stellantis car factory in Tychy, Poland, is celebrating: the 12.5 millionth car has come off the production line here. It is a Fiat 500, while the cars before and after are of the other two types built here.

‘Tychy’ is a very important location for the Italian branch of Stellantis, the former FCA. The factory has been in existence since the 1970s and produced top-selling Fiat 126, Cinquecento, Uno, Panda and 500. The current non-electric version of the Fiat 500 is built there from the start of its career, just like the sporty Abarth 500. The Lancia Ypsilon also runs off the production line here. The small Lancia is therefore still in production, although the model is only sold in Italy.

Car The 12.5 millionth car is a largely white Fiat 500 Hybrid, intended for a Belgian customer. The copy that came off the line directly in front of it was an Ypsilon and thus ends up in Italy. Car number 12.500.001 is an Abarth 500. The fat 695 Tributo 131 Rally goes to Germany.

The newer, electric brother of the Polish-built Fiat 500, the Fiat 500e, comes off the production line in Turin. They don’t have to be bored in Tychy, however, because the factory will, among other things, get the production of the new, compact and also available as an EV Jeep Avenger on its plate.
