1. Liquid Glass

One of the most striking innovations of iPados 26 on your iPad is of course the beautiful new design called Liquid Glass. This gives your iPad a completely renewed appearance. The new design looks fresh and modern with all its transparent elements. Almost everything now seems of glass: buttons, beams and controllers. Colors of the surrounding content are reflected and automatically adapt to light and dark modes. Apps such as camera, photos, safari, facetime, Apple Music, Apple News and Apple podcasts have also received the new design.

2. 4 new apps

In addition to the innovations, the update to iPados 26 also brings four new apps to your iPad:

• Telephone: The telephone app finally comes to the tablet with iPados 26. In this application you see recent phone calls and you can start a new call. That happens via the iPhone, so your smartphone must be nearby. This way it is finally possible to call someone on the iPad.
• Diary: After installing the update, the diary app is automatically on your tablet. In the app you can save and record texts, photos, videos and places. These notes can be found later, just like with a ‘real’ diary.
• Prevalence: This application has been available on the Mac (book) for years, but is being extended to the iPad and to the iPhone. With preview you get direct access to all PDF documents and images in the files app.
• Games: The Games app gives an overview of the most popular games of the moment. You can also see which games you have played (recently) and for which apps an update is available.

3. Multitasking

This is a function that already existed in a more limited form, but through iPados 26 a lot of innovations have been added to your iPad. You can now open more windows at the same time and adjust the format. You can now also divide the iPad screen into three or celebrations, and close or minimize windows or view it on full screen. Just swipe up and hold to see all your windows next to each other. Then tap one of the windows to bring them forward.
