3 problems in iOS 26 and how to fix them
There are of course more than 3 problems in iOS 26. Apple solves some of those problems itself by releasing updates. In addition, there are also problems that you can easily solve yourself. We show you 3 of them!
1. Keyboard preview
Do you no longer see a preview of each key pressed on the keyboard? That may be true, because Apple has disabled that feature by default in iOS 26. It’s something you probably have to get used to quite a bit, because it’s been different for years. Fortunately, you can adjust it fairly easily:
- Open the Settings app;
- Tap ‘General’;
- Tap ‘Keyboard’;
- Enable the ‘Character Preview’ option.
If all goes well, typing will now feel exactly like you have been used to for years!
2. Full screen screenshots
You are probably also used to seeing a preview at the bottom left when you take a screenshot. If you take a screenshot in iOS 26, there is a good chance that you will experience problems and see a full-screen window. You can edit and/or share the screenshot there. This is not very useful, especially if you take multiple screenshots in a row. Fortunately, it is also something you can easily adjust yourself. It works like this:
- Open the Settings app;
- Tap ‘General’;
- Tap ‘Screenshot’;
- Turn off the ‘Full Screen Previews’ option.
From now on you will simply see a small preview of your screenshot in the bottom left corner.
3. Lost favorites
After installing iOS 26, one of the problems may be that you have lost your favorites in the Phone app. These are now at the top of the ‘Calls’ tab and look slightly different than you are used to. Don’t like it? Then you can restore the old view. On the same tab at the top right, tap the three lines. Choose the ‘Classic’ option here. You will then simply get a tab with your favorites at the bottom left.
