3FM Serious Request has started again, and this year it’s not about the Glass House. Fortunately, you can still watch, listen and help, via the Serious Request app.
3FM Serious Request app keeps you up to date
It has become a tradition: in the week before Christmas, radio station NPO 3FM organizes the charity action Serious Request. But there was more and more criticism of the well-known Glass House, where radio DJs locked themselves in to raise money for a cause of the Red Cross. That is why the promotion looks completely different this year, and the accompanying app has become much more important.
This year, three teams of 3FM DJs will go from action to action from three different locations in the Netherlands. So they walk a grueling journey through the country to eventually arrive in Utrecht on Christmas Eve. Along the way they help with all kinds of actions that have been set up by listeners and helpers.
Pop stage TivoliVredenburg is the headquarters in Utrecht, called Lifeline. Here too, all kinds of actions, performances and workshops are held throughout the week. Listeners can go here, but they can also join the DJs for a while.
Location map and auction house
And this is where the app comes into the picture. Because in the application you will find exactly where the walking radio DJs are located. Each duo has its own page where you can find a schedule from hour to hour. You can also view all fragments of their ‘pilgrimage’ here.
This year the radio station is raising money for three charities of the Red Cross: resuscitation in the Netherlands, protection against natural disasters and emergency aid during war and conflicts. You will also find all reports and information about these goals in the app.
It is also handy that you will find buttons everywhere to donate or request a picture. By requesting a record for 5, 10, 15 or more euros, you support the action and also ensure that one of your favorite songs is played.
Another big part of the annual promotion is the auction. You can easily browse through all auction items in the app. For example, bid for a signed guitar by Jason Mraz, a game of darts with rapper Donnie or Niki Terpstra’s cycling outfit.
Or, of course, offer an item for auction yourself. Filtering between all items is possible. You can filter on all categories, the remaining time, the highest or lowest bid or scroll in shuffle mode.
Trusted Features
Would you rather work for a good cause in a different way, but would you like to listen to 3FM during the Serious Request days? Fortunately, the app also retains its original function: streaming radio. Via the app you can easily listen to the radio station all day long, and you can see which DJs are on the move and what is being played.
You can also check which music has already been played and switch to a live stream, where you can also watch live. You can also respond to something in the show via the app, by going to ‘App’ in the menu. Here you can quickly send a message to the radio station, while you continue listening happily.
