iOS 26.2 is coming soon and is packed with new features for your iPhone – here you will find all the new features of 5 Apple apps in iOS 26.2.
These 5 iPhone apps get better in iOS 26.2
We expect Apple to release iOS 26.2 to the general public in December. That update brings all kinds of new functions to your iPhone. In addition, there are 5 Apple iPhone apps that are getting a lot better. We introduce them to you:
1. Memories
The Reminders app used to be a simple list-making app, but after years of development, Apple turned it into a complete task manager. And iOS 26.2 adds a useful new feature. You can now mark a reminder as ‘Urgent’ when it has a fixed deadline. If you mark it as ‘Urgent’, an alarm will sound on your iPhone when that reminder expires.

2. Podcasts
Apple Podcasts is just one of many popular podcast apps available on the iPhone. But in iOS 26.2, three new features make Apple’s Podcasts app more appealing than ever:
- Automatic chapters.
- Recommendations for other podcasts.
- Links from episodes follow.
Auto chapters is probably the most interesting thing. Apple takes advantage of its excellent podcast transcription feature, feeds that transcript into its Apple Intelligence models and automatically creates chapters for all podcasts.
The other additions are intended to make it easier for users to access links to other podcast episodes mentioned by presenters, or recommendations for TV shows, music, books and other links.

3. Freeform
Freeform gets a powerful new feature in iOS 26.2: support for tables. If you’re not familiar with Freeform, it’s an app that lets you create “boards” with text, images, graphs, files, links, and more. It’s especially great for collaboration. Now Freeform has expanded the available toolset to include tables. If you’ve used tables in other Apple apps like Notes, the experience in Freeform is similar.

4. Games
Apple Games is a brand new app added in iOS 26. After gathering initial user feedback, Apple has made three improvements in iOS 26.2:
- Library Filters: You can now filter the game library in several new ways. For example, on titles that offer challenges, or titles that your friends play.
- Controller support: If you’re serious about gaming, chances are you’re using a Bluetooth controller. That’s why iOS 26.2 makes the Games app easier to use with a controller.
- Real-time Challenge Updates: Real-time updates keep challenge scores current as you play.
Whether you’re new to the Games app or a regular user, these changes will likely refine the overall experience.

5. Music
Apple Music gets a welcome change in iOS 26.2: support for offline lyrics. Lyrics were introduced years ago, but they always required a Wi-Fi or cellular connection. Now lyrics are available even when you’re on a plane, traveling on the subway, or trekking through the wilderness without cell service. It’s unclear what exactly causes the Music app to download a song’s lyrics offline. Hopefully any music added to your library will support this feature.
