Gadget to hack iPhone
There is a device in circulation among hackers that makes iPhones virtually unusable. With the Flipper Zero, a Bluetooth signal is sent to the iPhones. Normally this is not a problem, but the device sends out a lot of signals in a short period of time. As a result, multiple notifications appear on the iPhone to connect via Bluetooth.

Because the signal is broadcast so often, the connection notifications keep coming back to the iPhone. This means you can no longer use the phone, because the message must be tapped away each time. No other tasks can be performed on the iPhone as long as the notification is displayed. It now appears that the Flipper Zero is very easy to obtain, because you can simply buy the gadget on Bol.com.

The Flipper Zero can be purchased on Bol.com for approximately 269 euros. So for that amount anyone can buy the gadget and hack an iPhone. The device is very small, making it easy to carry. That has to be the case, because the Flipper Zero can only disrupt iPhones within a certain distance. If an iPhone is within range, it is vulnerable to the Bluetooth signals.
The gadget then pretends to be a normal device that wants to connect to your iPhone via Bluetooth, such as the AirPods. The iPhone therefore allows the connection notification even when the phone is in airplane mode. You can tap away the notification, but new notifications keep appearing on screen through the Flipper Zero. Your iPhone remains unusable until you are no longer within range of the gadget.
iOS remains vulnerable
Apple’s operating systems are known for security, but iOS remains vulnerable to the gadget. Apple has not yet come up with a solution for the disruptive Bluetooth signals, so it remains possible to hack an iPhone with the Flipper Zero. Fortunately, your data is not at risk with the gadget, but it is of course still annoying.

Your iPhone is currently only safe for the gadget if you have manually disabled Bluetooth on the device. Unfortunately, this has a number of disadvantages, for example, your Apple Watch is no longer connected to your iPhone as soon as Bluetooth is turned off.
The same goes for the AirPods, you cannot listen to music without Bluetooth. It is therefore hoped that Apple will quickly come up with a solution so that it is no longer possible for everyone with the gadget to hack an iPhone.
