Unfortunately, the battery of the latest iPhone has not received any improvements. But with these tips you can significantly improve the battery life of your iPhone 15.
7 tips to improve the battery life of your iPhone 15
Apple released four new iPhones in September. Of the iPhone 15 (Plus) and the iPhone 15 Pro (Max), the Plus and Pro Max have the best battery life. But what if you have an iPhone 15 or an iPhone 15 Pro? Then we have 7 tips to significantly improve battery life.
Don’t have an iPhone 15? No worries! Of course, you can also use (most of) these tips for other iPhones to significantly extend the battery life.
1. Check which apps use the most
To get more out of your iPhone’s battery, you first need to identify the biggest battery drainers. This is quite easy by tapping ‘Settings > Battery’. Then scroll down to see battery usage by app. You can then choose to delete the apps.
Tap ‘Last 10 days’ to see which apps have been using your battery lately. Tap on one of the apps to check what a background app is draining your iPhone battery. Also read what it says below under ‘Insights and suggestions’, because your iPhone also gives you tips to save the battery.
2. Energy saving mode
Power Saving Mode is an easier way to improve the battery life of your iPhone 15. You can enable the option by tapping ‘Settings > Battery’. Then turn on the option ‘Energy saving mode’.
The option is quite hidden in the settings, but it is possible to set the Energy Saving function as a button in your Control Panel. You do this in the following way.
- Tap ‘Settings’, scroll down and choose ‘Control Center’;
- Under ‘More controls’, tap the plus sign next to ‘Energy saving mode’;
- If you now open the Control Panel, you will find a new button to turn on the Energy Saving Mode.
3. Display and brightness
The iPhone’s display is often one of the biggest battery consumers. Tap ‘Settings > Display & brightness’. Then check the ‘Automatic lock’ option. Set it to ’30 seconds’ if not already done.
Another good way to save your battery is to lower the screen brightness. You do this at the top of the same window. By enabling the ‘True Tone’ option, the iPhone automatically adjusts the brightness of the screen.
4. Always-on display
The iPhone 15 Pro (and the iPhone 15 Pro Max) both have an always-on display. You can also disable this option. Disabling this feature will not extend the battery life of your iPhone 15 very much, but every little bit helps.
You can turn off the function by tapping ‘Settings > Display and brightness > ‘. Then switch the ‘Always on’ button to off.
5. Refresh apps in the background
The Energy Saving Mode largely disables the refreshing of apps in the background, but you can also choose which apps are allowed to do so. Tap ‘Settings > General > Background Refresh’ to adjust them yourself.

6. Turn off location services
Go to ‘Settings > Privacy & security’. Then tap ‘Location Services’. Then check the list of apps to see if ‘Always’ is enabled somewhere. Adjust the option there to ‘Never’ or ‘When using the app’.
7. Push or collect
A final way to get that little bit of extra battery life from your iPhone 15 and extend it is to turn off the push option for mail (‘Settings > Mail > Accounts > New data’).
With push, new email messages are retrieved immediately when they are available. By turning off the function, you can choose when mail will be retrieved under ‘Collect’ at the bottom. For example, set this to ‘Every fifteen minutes’ or ‘Every half hour’.
