Do you use iCloud? Then we have good news, because Apple has expanded iCloud with many more functions. These are the changes!
New features for iCloud
Apple has introduced a bunch of new features to iCloud! These features are available to all iCloud users, even if you don’t have a paid subscription. The iCloud website has been expanded with new settings, making it easier to find photos, files and other documents. For example, you can now search for photos in a month or year by pressing the calendar icon above the Photo Library.
Have you received a forwarded photo? Or took a screenshot of an image? It is now possible to adjust the date, time and location of a photo in iCloud. This is especially useful if this data has not been forwarded in the photo file, now you can still add it manually via iCloud. In addition, Apple has added new features to the iCloud home page.

Personalize iCloud page
Until now, you had little choice when setting up the iCloud home page, but Apple has changed that. The iCloud website now has support for light and dark mode. The latter is a new addition, so you can now choose which view you like most. You don’t have a lot of freedom here, because the light and dark mode are synchronized with the display of your Mac.
What you do get more choice about is the color of the iCloud home screen. You can now adjust the background to your own preference. You can choose from blue, purple, green, red, orange and yellow. You remain dependent on the colors that Apple has selected in advance; unfortunately it is not possible to choose your own photo or other color. Apple may add those features to iCloud later.

More about iCloud
Other changes that Apple has made to iCloud can be seen in the widgets on the home screen. It is possible to pin important notes so that you see them immediately as soon as you open iCloud. With the Photos widget, you can display a specific album in the updated version of iCloud, instead of random images from your camera roll. Here are all the new features Apple announced for iCloud:
- Dark Mode for iCloud;
- Background can be adjusted;
- Renewed design for the Calendar app;
- Shared View for iCloud Drive;
- Find photos in a month or year;
- Adjust date, time and location of an image;
- Album view in the Photos widget on the home screen;
- Important notes can be pinned;
- Create new lists in Reminders and finalize existing reminders.
These features have only been introduced on the iCloud web page, so nothing will change in the settings of your iPhone, iPad and Mac. Apple has already implemented the changes, making them available to all users. Both paid and free users can try out the new features of iCloud.
