New Mitsubishi Outlander and Eclipse Cross announced

Mitsubishi is working on a successor to the Outlander. The completely new generation of that new SUV will be introduced on the American market early next year, so the European version will in any case not be announced later.

A small but striking message from the American division of Mitsubishi. The brand promises a local model offensive, but that may sound more exciting to us Europeans than it is.

Mitsubishi proudly reports that it will renew its entire American line-up within a year. Most of the Mitsubishi news is no longer news here. In the first quarter of next year, the American consumer will also be able to step into the renewed Space Star, which has been available in the Netherlands since the beginning of this year. A difference with the version available here: the Space Star is called Mirage in the United States and in addition to a hatchback version you can also order a ‘Space Star Sedan’: the Mirage G4. Other news concerns the Outlander Sport, the car we know as ASX. This crossover is mainly renewed at the equipment level, so far not exciting.

Fortunately, there is also interesting news for the European and therefore Dutch market. For example, Mitsubishi reports that it will present a revised version of the Eclipse Cross in the first quarter of next year. That SUV has been running since 2017 and can use a renewal round purely in terms of age. According to Mitsubishi, the interior is renewed and the Eclipse Cross is introduced to a new infotainment system. Although the rear is also tightened, the most radical changes take place at the front according to Mitsubishi. The muzzle of the Eclipse Cross is topped with design elements of Mitsubishi’s new design language, which brings us to an even more interesting newcomer: the Outlander.

Mitsubishi Engelberg Tourer

Mitsubishi Engelberg Tourer Concept

Mitsubishi reports that in the first quarter of next year it will present a completely new generation of the Outlander. That SUV is according to the American division of Mitsubishi “[…] bigger, bolder, quieter and better equipped “than any other model of the brand. With the Engelberg Tourer Concept presented at the beginning of last year, Mitsubishi already gave an impression of its new design language and of course also of the brand new Outlander. The Outlander PHEV, the plug -version of the current Outlander, is undergoing a thorough update in the United States this year, but that renewal round has already taken place in Europe in 2018.
