Formula 1 enthusiasts pay attention! Drive to survive season 7 is now on Netflix! We give you 7 reasons why you should definitely not miss this season.
You want to know this about Drive to Survive on Netflix
The Netflix series Drive to survive depends on the origin of the success of Formula 1 in America. The show follows the F1 circus for a whole season and then turns it into a Juicy docu, where they don’t take it so closely with the truth. That has been a great pre-show for the new season for six seasons. On Friday 7 March, season 7 will be live and it is about the 2024 season. We give you seven good reasons to look below.
Watch the series for free via KPN
Good news for Formula 1 fans with KPN! If you use a combination advantage, you benefit from a free Netflix subscription. That means that you can now watch Drive to Survive Season 7 completely for free! Don’t miss a second of the tension, drama and action from the paddock and experience the Formula 1 season like never before.
Reason 1: The most exciting season
2024 was the most exciting Formula 1 season since decades. Even the biggest experts had no idea for the races who would win. No fewer than seven drivers from four teams won a race: a record. The American makers of Drive to Survive managed to make something exciting from previous seasons, let alone what we can expect from the most exciting season of the century.
Reason 2: Hamilton to Ferrari and ‘Silly Season’ all year round
For the first race of last season, Lewis Hamilton already laid a bomb under the entire year by announcing early that he will switch to Ferrari from 2025. The so -called ‘Silly Season’ where drivers start looking for a racing chair for the coming season started early. The whole season it was a big show: who is going to drive where? Sainz who has to make room for Hamilton and does not choose, so that everything comes to a standstill.
Perez who does not perform. Rookies that sometimes do it and sometimes do not do well. The shift and squabbling starts in March and eventually continues until December when Perez is told that he is being dipped from the Red Bull team. We can’t wait to see what the Drive to Survive makers have made of this.
Reason 3: The reversal of McLaren
Until now, the Drive to Survive season has been set up in themes. We estimate the chance that we will see the magic reversing of McLaren in an episode. During the first race they were nowhere: a car did not reach the finish, the other was seventeenth. The first race was won in Miami and the team finally closed the year with winning and the first constructor title in years. If that doesn’t yield a 30 -minute television.
Reason 4: Quarrel at Alpine
The quarrels in and around Alpine provide sufficient material for their own soap. That is why we will also see this subject in Drive to Survive 7 again. Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon continue to fight each other and Broekie Oliver Oakes will be the new team boss. A CEO is added that cannot keep his mouth in the press and in the meantime, former team boss Otmar Szafnauer makes the entire company for Rotte Vis.
Reason 5: Horny Horner
After a long and exciting season we would almost have forgotten that it started with a lot of misery for team boss Christian Horner who was accused of abuse of power within the team. An unknown lady reported this. The other teams made a warm use of the misery by throwing some extra oil on the fire.
The pleures also broke out internally because Horner and top advisor Helmut Marko got it on. Marko was supported by the Austrian owners of Red Bull (49%), while Horner managed to get the Thai bosses (51%) behind him. Drive to Survive has had a striking amount of access to all teams in recent seasons, we are very curious whether the doors at Red Bull have remained open to the crew this year.

Reason 6: Dip Red Bull
For reason 6 we will stay with Red Bull. Despite the internal shit with the team, both drivers still managed to score well at the beginning of 2024. In fact, Max Verstappen built the lead here with which he won the championship. But after the race in Miami it went downhill with the British-Dutch-Mexican-Aast rider. For a long time it was no longer won and only Verstappen regularly achieved points.

Afterwards Helmut Marko announced that the car was no longer good since mid -2023. The technical team then made ‘a wrong turn’. However, because of the qualities of Verstappen (it is the best rider in the world) that did not stand out. Halfway through 2024 the evil was done and McLaren and Ferrari came alongside.
Reason 7: Max in Brazil
Season 2024 is on the nomination for the best race ever. Max Verstappen managed to attract the win on the Interlagos circuit in a great catch -up race in the rain. This race is seen by friend and foe as one of the best performance ever. A agitated Verstappen (due to an unjustified punishment) drove the fire out of his slippers.
Surprising Rookies
And then all the rookies that were allowed to get in a car this year for a race. Oliver Bearman replaced Carlos Sainz at the last minute, who had to leave the circuit with an appendic infection, and grabbed his first points.
Franco Colapinto replaced the poorly performing Logan Sargeant halfway through the season (finally). He rode the stars of heaven in his first races, but then fell back with a number of stupid crashes. Jack Doohan rode in the last race instead of Esteban Ocon with whom the quarrels had risen so high that he let the last race pass by.

Included? We promised seven reasons, it was secretly eight! And we could think of ten more. The main reason to also watch season 7 from Drive to Survive is that the American makers are not afraid to throw a bat in the hen house, and the truth does not always play the greatest role.
This way the producers are good at releasing chronology every now and then. Perez makes a mistake and Verstappen is looking at it shaking his head, it yields beautiful images, but whether it really happened? Well, what a matter of: the show must go on.
