This year iOS 19 is the update for the iPhone. According to rumors, it is about the biggest update in years, because Apple is working on a new design for the operating system. In the new software version, many elements of Visionos are said to be reflected. That means that we will see more transparent frameworks and that Apple works much more with depth and shadow effects. This new design is already emerging in the invitations app.
A big difference between Visionos and iOS is the representation of applications. With iOS, all apps have square icons, which are displayed in rows on the home screen of your iPhone. With the Apple Vision Pro, the applications have round symbols. It was unclear for a long time whether these round apps would also come to iOS 19, but according to a new rumor it looks like that. Round Symbols at Apps
The video shows renders of iOS 19, who are reportedly based on real images of the software update. These images correspond to earlier rumors, which predict that many elements of Visionos will be taken over in iOS 19. That may also apply to the round apps, which come to the iPhone for the first time with iOS 19. It is striking, square symbols were shown in earlier leaked images.
According to Apple connoisseur Jon Prosser, the round apps are still hidden in earlier leaked versions of iOS 19. This is due to a special controller in the operating system, with which you can switch on the round icons with applications. Apple may have built in this switch to prevent these images from coming out for the release of iOS 19. That has happened now, so there is a good chance that Apple will say goodbye to the square symbols at iOS 19.

Apple is therefore working on major changes for the operating system. With the switch, the corners of the app icons are completed, so that we see rounder symbols for the first time with applications on the iPhone. It is still unclear whether users will soon be able to opt for round or square apps in iOS 19. With iOS 18 you as a user already have much more freedom when you organize your home screen, with iOS 19 you probably get more options.
