Do you suffer from motion sickness? Thanks to ‘Movement instructions Vehicle’ not

Do you experience motion sickness when you look at the screen of your iPhone while driving? Apple has devised a solution for that.

Do you suffer from motion sickness?

Motion sickness is a form of travel sickness (or kinetosis). It is also called visually induced movement disease. In fact, it is not a disease, but a symptom that occurs while seeing movement. It is a reaction of the human body to a difference between what the body expects and what actually happens.

Movement disease not only occurs when you are actually moving, but can also be created by watching films recorded with a moving camera or when playing games. In general, in dizziness, nausea, headache and fatigue.

Movement instruction Vehicle

In many people, motion sickness is mainly created when they are in a moving vehicle and read a book or watch a screen. That will be discouraged. If you are sensitive to it, then you may have experienced it when you are busy with your iPhone in the car. And that is exactly what Apple has devised a solution with the name ‘Movement instructions Vehicle’.

This function has been available since iOS 18 and shows dots to the edges of the screen, which follow the movement of the vehicle. This significantly reduces the risk of motion sickness. You can switch on as follows:

  • Open the app settings;
  • Tap ‘accessibility’ and then on ‘movement’;
  • Tap ‘Show movement instructions of vehicle’;
  • Place a check mark behind ‘automatic’.

The ‘automatic’ setting is most practical, because your iPhone does detect when you drive in a car. The function is therefore automatically switched on when you drive away and also works simply when you use your iPhone to navigate. Say day to motion sickness!
