When Apple said goodbye to the leather covers, FineWoven became the replacement. The idea sounded good, because the covers were a more sustainable alternative and had a luxurious look. In practice, however, that was quite disappointing.
The fabric turned out to be ugly, could spots enormously and looked anything but premium over time. Apple now seems to want to do that misstep and comes with the ‘techwoven’ covers.
The Techwoven covers have a more striking texture than their predecessors and feel more ‘grippy’. They are designed to stay beautiful for longer and to be more resistant to daily use.

In terms of colors, Apple keeps it modest with the iPhone 17 covers, but certainly not boring. The shades that see on the photos are black, blue, green, purple and orange. Maybe these colors tell you something, because it is probably also the colors that the new iPhone will get.
If you look a little better at the photos you will also see the buttons. According to Majin BU, these are made of metal. Of course the covers also have support for Magsafe, so that you can easily charge wirelessly or use accessories such as a card holder.
Although most leaked photos mainly show the iPhone 17 Pro (with its wider, horizontal camera island), it seems that the techwoven covers for the entire iPhone 17 line are coming.
