Apple Invitations
Apple regularly releases new applications for the iPhone and iPad. At the beginning of 2025, Apple introduced the invitations app, with which you can plan events more easily. In Apple invitations it is possible to plan a party, drink or other event, for example, guests are then immediately informed of the event. They can put themselves on or absent in the applications, so that you know who will and does not come.
The invitations app is a handy addition to the iPhone, especially if you regularly organize parties or meetings. Apple has now released an update, which makes Apple invitations even better. A new function is coming to the application, because the invitations app receives support for widgets for the first time. With these widgets you can count down to the next event. That is of course no coincidence, because with this new feature in the Apple app you can also count down to the iPhone 17 event.
This is how the new function works
Do you use Apple invitations regularly? In that case you get a handy function, because you can add widgets to the home screen of your iPhone. Apple has added the feature to the latest version of the app, which is version 1.4. Make sure you have installed that software version so that you can add widgets from Apple invitations to the home screen of your iPhone.
Have you updated the application? Then go to the home screen of your iPhone and hold down the screen. In the left corner, tap ‘Change> Add widget’ and look for ‘invitations’. You can then choose what the format of the widget will be, you can choose from three options. Have you added the widget? Then tap to select an event, the widget then automatically starts with countdown.
Next Apple event
With the new feature, Apple is not only a handy way to organize events, but also to add a countdown clock to the home screen of your iPhone. For this feature you no longer need another app, instead you can use Apple invitations. The update is now available for all users, to fully use the invitations app you need a subscription to iCloud Plus.
It is no coincidence that Apple adds the feature to the app right now, because the next event is coming. Apple has announced the ‘Awe Dropping’ event, most likely presenting the new iPhones and Apple Watches.
