AirPods Pro 3 prices: You pay so little for Apple’s best ears

The third generation of the AirPods Pro has been announced! Apple presented the AirPods Pro 3 during the iPhone 17 event on Tuesday 9 September 2025. The earphones are equipped with many more functions and an improved fit. Fortunately, that is not reflected in the price, because Apple has made the best AirPods of the moment cheaper. It is striking that Apple uses this starting price with the third generation of the AirPods Pro. The AirPods Pro 2 were marketed for 279 euros in 2023, which is 30 euros more expensive than the AirPods Pro 3. Apple has the prices of the AirPods Pro 3 so reduced compared to the starting price of the AirPods Pro 2. That is good news, because for this lower price you get much more functions back.

Many new functions

Apple is making major changes with the third generation of the AirPods Pro. The silicone attachments of the earphones have been adjusted and improved to ensure a better fit. For example, with the new AirPods you get no fewer than five different sizes of attachments, with the AirPods Pro (2) there are three more. That way you know for sure that there is a suitable size in between, so that the ears are pleasant to drage and are suitable for everyone.

The improved fit is not the only improvement in the new attachments, because they also ensure better noise reduction. According to Apple, active noise reduction works up to twice as better with the AirPods Pro 3 compared to the AirPods Pro 2. Other new functions are a longer battery life and live translating. Text is currently being translated with the latter by the advanced ears.

At the AirPods Pro 3, Apple introduces a heart rate monitor, making this Apple’s first ears with this feature. With new sensors, the AirPods Pro 3 register your heart rate while performing workouts. You then see this data on your iPhone in the Health app, so that you know exactly what your heart rate was during your training.
