High blood pressure is the most important cause of death worldwide. This is because you are more at risk of cardiovascular disease due to a high blood pressure. That is why it is good that Apple has now put a blood pressure monitor in the Apple Watch. Apple announced this new Apple Watches during the Keynote of 8 September. Apple then said that the new Apple Watch Ultra 3 and the Apple Watch Series 11 both get the blood pressure monitor.
What Apple has not explicitly stated is that some older Apple Watches also get the blood pressure monitor. The feature is available on Apple Watch Series 9 or newer and the Apple Watch Ultra 2 or newer. Apple does indicate that blood pressure function is not suitable for users under the age of 22, users who have been determined in the past or users who are pregnant.
The feature for reports in high blood pressure is currently for approval at the regulatory body and is expected to be approved this month.
Blood pressure monitor with a small but …
Apple has been working on blood pressure function for the Apple Watch for a while. However, do not expect exact numbers like with a traditional blood pressure monitor. Instead, the Watch keeps an eye on your blood pressure for a longer period of time (30 days) and you get a signal if high blood pressure is measured for a longer period of time.

Do you have one of the much older Apple Watches without a blood pressure monitor? And would you like the new functions? The Apple Watch Series 11 is available in aluminum with the colors Spacegrijs, Gitzwart, Rose Gold and Silver. The titanium version is available in the colors natural, gold and slate. The Apple Watch Series 11 will be in stores from September 19.
