Apple has released a new test version of iOS 26! These changes come to your iPhone with iOS 26.1 Bèta 2.

A new version of iOS 26.1 is available again! Apple has released iOS 26.1 Bèta 2 for developers. With the update, small changes are made to the iPhone. For example, the institutions app has a number of important improvements. The design is subtly adjusted, because all symbols and texts are aligned on the left side of the settings app. This ensures a clearer design.
In addition, the Settings app has a new menu, because you can switch on ‘security improvements in the background’. With this function, security improvements are automatically installed, so that your iPhone is always well protected. Do you adjust the display of the screen via the settings of your iPhone? Then from iOS 26.1 Bèta 2 you see the latest wallpapers in the preview, instead of the wallpapers of iOS 18 that were also shown in iOS 26.
Changes in the design
In the Settings app, all symbols and texts are much more aligned to the left. This also applies to the names of all folders on the home screen of your iPhone. Where these titles were still shown in the middle above a folder, this is in iOS 26.1 beta 2 on the left. Other changes to the design are reflected in the photos and clock app. The photos app has a custom menu bar above the photo library, where ‘play as a slide show’, ‘favorite’ and ‘hide’ are at the top.
The Klok app gets an important update in iOS 26.1 Bèta 2, which makes it much more difficult to sleep. Apple has adjusted the button for switching off the alarm clock. Where in iOS 26 you still have to tap the button to stop the alarm, that is a slider from the latest test version. You have to sweep over the button to the right to switch off your alarm clock. In this way the chance is smaller that you will stop the alarm clock unknowingly and continue to sleep.

In addition, Apple has made small adjustments in iOS 26.1 with the elements of Liquid Glass. The glass effect around applications is more subtle in the new software version. Moreover, the background behind the symbols of apps has been made darker to improve the readability of the operating system. It is expected that Apple will adjust the interface of iOS 26 in the coming updates, because it is the biggest change in years.
