Please note if you regularly use the alarm clock of your iPhone, because Apple introduces a new button. This will change!
Alarm of your iPhone
There is an important update! With iOS 26.1, Apple is making major changes on your iPhone. Apple Intelligence is finally available in Dutch, so that almost all applications are expanded with useful functions. In the meantime, the first test versions of iOS 26.1 have been published and it is clear that Apple is adjusting the design of the operating system again. This way the alarm clock of your iPhone gets a new button.
Apple has already given the Wekker app in iOS 26 a new design. Have you set an alarm clock and is it going? Then the slumber and stop button appear much more prominent in the latest software version. The latter will again receive an update in iOS 26.1, because the stop button will soon be working in a completely different way. You can no longer tap the stop button from iOS 26.1 to switch off your alarm clock.

Stop button works differently
Apple adjusts the alarm clock in iOS 26.1 for the first time in years. Where you still have to tap the button to stop the alarm clock, that will soon be no longer possible. Instead, you must sweep over the button to switch off the alarm. A slider appears automatically from iOS 26.1 if your alarm goes off, which you can only stop by sweeping to the right over the screen of your iPhone.
For many users, the new design probably means good news, because it will be more difficult to eliminate the alarm clock of your iPhone. With the slider, there is little chance that you will accidentally stop the alarm while you are still half sleeping. You now have to consciously sweep in the right place over the screen to turn off the alarm clock. The button to sleep remains the same, which you can control on the screen with one tap.

No more sleep
Have you ever eliminated your alarm clock while you actually wanted to sleep? From iOS 26.1, the chance is much smaller that you accidentally stop the alarm clock. With the slumber button, the alarm clock rings again after a certain number of minutes, while completely switching off the alarm with the stop button. That will soon be no problem, because the button to put the alarm clock on your iPhone gets a much better design.
The new button at the alarm clock of your iPhone ensures that the chance is much smaller that you are still sleeping. For a long time we don’t have to wait for the adapted design, because Apple is still releasing iOS 26 this month. The new software version brings major changes to your iPhone through the release of Apple Intelligence. Curious when you can update? Read all about the release of iOS 26.1 here!
