Apple has released another new test version of iOS 26.1! This much-requested feature comes to the iPhone with iOS 26.1 beta 4.

Another new software version of iOS 26 has been released! Developers can get started with iOS 26.1 beta 4, which brings a number of highly requested features to the iPhone. The most important part of iOS 26 is the new interface, because Apple has introduced Liquid Glass on the iPhone. The new design has many more glass and transparent elements, making the operating system look completely different.
Not all users are enthusiastic about the more transparent interface. For example, certain menus, notifications and frames are less readable since the introduction of Liquid Glass. Apple has now adjusted the transparent elements several times and this is the case again in iOS 26.1 beta 4. In the new test version, the iPhone gets an extra switch that makes Liquid Glass more transparent or less transparent.

From iOS 26.1, you will find a new menu in your iPhone’s settings under ‘Display and brightness’. There you can choose your favorite display of Liquid Glass after installing the update. You can choose between ‘Clear’ and ‘Tint’, the latter adding more contrast to the interface. In iOS 26.1 beta 4, Apple ensures that the operating system remains clearly readable for all users.
Are you having trouble reading notifications and menus since iOS 26? Then iOS 26.1 beta 4 comes with a solution, because you then decide what Liquid Glass looks like. This is a much-requested feature that should make the operating system much more user-friendly. With iPadOS 26.1 and macOS 26.1, similar settings are coming to iPad and Mac, so you can adjust the transparency of Liquid Glass on all devices.

Furthermore, Apple mainly makes minor improvements to the iPhone in iOS 26.1 beta 4. On the iPhone’s Lock screen, you can now swipe left by default to open the camera. Don’t you want that? Then you can disable that from iOS 26.1 to prevent the Camera app from opening unintentionally. In the new test versions, Apple mainly fixes software errors and security problems.
iOS 26.1 beta 4 is expected to be one of the last test versions of the update. The final software version is likely to arrive next week and will bring many new features to your iPhone.
