You should never ask ChatGPT (or other AI bots) these 3 questions

Do you regularly use ChatGPT or another chatbot that works with artificial intelligence? You should never ask these three questions to ChatGPT!

Ask questions to ChatGPT

For many, ChatGPT has become an indispensable part of daily life. The chatbot compiles shopping lists, creates useful overviews and finds important information within seconds. However, there are certain questions that you should not ask ChatGPT or other chatbots, because they cannot give a correct or honest answer. It is better not to discuss these topics!

1. Political advice

In the Netherlands we can go to the polls again on Wednesday, October 29, 2025. These are the first elections in which ChatGPT can play a major role, because many users ask the chatbot for political advice. It is better not to do that, because AI chatbots do not provide reliable voting advice. The Dutch Data Protection Authority has now warned not to rely on voting advice from chatbots such as ChatGPT.

Research has shown that chatbots that work with artificial intelligence do not take all parties into account when providing political advice. When asking for voting advice, chatbots such as ChatGPT mainly prefer the PVV and GroenLinks-PvdA. Middle parties are hardly included, so it is better not to turn to chatbots for political advice. Instead, consult a voting or election guide yourself, so that you really know which party best suits your political wishes.

2. Medical advice

It is also better not to ask ChatGPT or other chatbots for medical advice. Therefore, do not use these chatbots to make certain diagnoses, because there is a good chance that incorrect information will emerge. Chatbots collect data from various web pages on the internet, where inaccuracies can regularly be found. If these errors are included in ChatGPT’s response, you will receive incorrect or incomplete advice.

Therefore, keep in mind that ChatGPT or any other chatbot is not a replacement for professional counselors. Are you dealing with physical or mental complaints? You can ask ChatGPT exploratory questions, but for real medical advice, go to a professional care provider. This way you can be sure that the medical advice you receive is reliable and not based on possible inaccuracies from the internet.

3. Saving passwords

Do you have trouble remembering usernames and passwords? And do you want to store them somewhere? You should never ask chatbots like ChatGPT that either. All data you enter into chatbots that work with artificial intelligence are used to train language models. In this way, chatbots are becoming increasingly smarter, but it is better to keep certain information to yourself.

Data such as your passwords are confidential, so you don’t want them to be used for training language models. Therefore, never enter important information such as your passwords, email addresses or other account details with chatbots such as ChatGPT. For this reason, you should not ask ChatGPT to store your passwords, as they will then end up on external servers. In that case, there is a greater chance that this data will be involved in a possible data breach, as a result of which your accounts are no longer safe.

More about ChatGPT

Do you use ChatGPT or other chatbots regularly? Then be careful with the data you enter and the advice you ask for. Not all questions are suitable for chatbots such as ChatGPT. This is not only due to the possible incorrect answers, but also due to the way in which data is processed. All information you enter is collected by companies behind chatbots, such as OpenAI. You then don’t know exactly what happens to this data.

It doesn’t hurt if you enter simple questions, such as drawing up shopping lists or requesting highlights for a specific holiday address. You must remain alert to political and medical advice, because it is not always correct. It is better to save passwords in Apple’s Passwords app, so that you can be sure that they are really safe.
