The first foldable iPhone (Fold) will be on the market in 2026 and will have a fairly hefty price. You need to know this.
The iPhone Fold will be released in 2026 for a hefty price
After years of development, Apple will launch the first foldable iPhone in 2026 and it will probably be a new high-end model – according to a new rumor, the Fold will have a very high price.
Apple’s foldable iPhone would, according to an analyst estimate Arthur Liao of Fubon Research could cost as much as $2,399. Various price estimates have already been made, but this latest estimate is on the high side.

Previous estimates
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo previously said he expects the iPhone Fold to cost between $2,000 and $2,500. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman expects the Fold to be priced somewhere around $2,000. The foldable iPhone will be expensive because of the high-quality parts that Apple plans to use. According to Fubon Research, the screen and hinge in particular will push the price up.
Demand for the device will depend on the price Apple ultimately chooses, but Fubon thinks Apple could sell around 5.4 million units in 2026. Global demand for smartphones may decline over the course of the year, leaving foldable devices as the only eye-catchers on the smartphone market.
More upgrades
Apple is also reportedly working on camera upgrades for 2026. For example, the company is likely to produce a smartphone lens with a variable aperture for the iPhone 18 Pro models for the first time. For the time being, it does not look like the iPhone Fold will get this variable aperture lens. According to rumors, the Fold will have a dual camera at the rear, with a wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle lens. We also expect two cameras on the front.
If the iPhone Fold does indeed cost $2,399, that is about double the price you now pay for the iPhone 17 Pro Max. It is also significantly more than the price of its direct competitors Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 ($1999) and Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold ($1799). It remains to be seen what the price of the iPhone Fold will ultimately be. If you don’t want to miss anything, sign up for our newsletter!
