Although we still have to wait about eight months for the iPhone 18 Pro (Max), we already know that Apple will add this change.

A reliable source has released detailed information about the screen sizes and plans for the Dynamic Island of Apple’s upcoming Pro models. That source is Weibo user Digital Chat Stationwhich regularly posts information about upcoming Apple products. In his latest post, he details the screen sizes of the iPhone 18 series (excluding the iPhone Fold) and the Dynamic Island changes:

  • iPhone 18 – 6.27 inch LTPO 120 Hz screen with Dynamic Island
  • iPhone Air 2 – 6.55 inch LTPO 120 Hz screen with Dynamic Island
  • iPhone 18 Pro – 6.27 inch LTPO 120 Hz screen with under-screen section
  • iPhone 18 Pro Max – 6.86 inch LTPO 120 Hz screen with under-screen section

These screen sizes correspond to those of the iPhone 17 series. So it appears that Apple is not making any changes to the screen sizes of the iPhone 18 models. LTPO 120 Hz also corresponds to what we currently have in the iPhone 17 series. Things get more interesting when we look at the Dynamic Island.

Two versions of the Dynamic Island

Digital Chat Station says that both the iPhone 18 and iPhone Air 2 will get the standard Dynamic Island. We assume that this means that nothing will be changed compared to the current models. The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, on the other hand, would get a new version of the Dynamic Island.

There are conflicting rumors floating around about what this will look like. Some reports say the new Dynamic Island will simply be smaller, but will look similar to the current pill form. Others say it’s a simple cutout shifted to the top left corner of the screen.

Since today’s post doesn’t use the words “Dynamic Island,” the latter option is more likely. It is noteworthy that this new design is expected to only be used on the 18 Pro models. The basic versions iPhone 18 and iPhone Air 2 remain unchanged in that respect. If you don’t want to miss any of these developments, sign up for our newsletter!
