It’s been a while since Apple unveiled the iPhone 17 series. The latest iPhones have been in stores since September 2025. The iPhone 17 has received a number of important improvements, for example, the device runs on the A19 chip and the regular iPhone has a ProMotion screen for the first time. Did you not get the iPhone 17 because you want to wait for the new iPhone 18? According to the latest rumors, it is better not to do that.

Apple reportedly plans to make virtually no design changes to the iPhone 18. That means the iPhone 18 series looks almost exactly the same as the iPhone 17 series. Apple provided the Pro models in particular with a renewed design in 2025, with a camera island that is much wider. Few design changes are expected with both the iPhone 18 and the iPhone 18 Pro (Max). The glass and aluminum parts of the iPhone 18 Pro and the iPhone 18 Pro Max probably fit together better, in contrast to the elements of the iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone 17 Pro Max. With the current Pro models you can still see a clear color difference between the glass and the aluminum. This is a small adjustment and will probably remain the same for the iPhone 18 series.

The changes will mainly be implemented under the hood of the new iPhones of 2026. The iPhone 18 and iPhone 18 Pro (Max) will be equipped with the A20 (Pro) chip, have improved cameras and a brighter screen.

This iPhone won’t arrive until 2027

So you don’t have to wait for the iPhone 18 series for the design, but that is not the only reason. Don’t want to pay the top price and buy the regular iPhone 18? Then you have to wait even longer, because the entry-level model will not be released until 2027. Apple will only release the iPhone 18 Pro this year and the iPhone 18 Pro Max in September. The iPhone 18 will not follow until the spring of 2027, together with the affordable iPhone 18e.
