According to rumors, the iPhone 17e will receive a small but desirable upgrade. But when is the iPhone 17e released?
iPhone 17th release: the first iPhone of 2026 will be released on this date
In February 2025, Apple released the iPhone 16e and it now looks like we will get the successor in the same month this year. According to rumors, the iPhone 17e will be unveiled on Thursday, February 19, 2026, exactly one year after the announcement of its predecessor.

New iPhone, but no Apple event
We have to admit that a launch on Thursday is a bit unusual. Apple usually announces new products on Mondays or Tuesdays. In addition, it is obvious that Apple will present the device again without an event. Just like with the iPhone 16e, the announcement will be made via a press release.
Finally MagSafe, but much remains the same
The iPhone 17e gets a few small, but interesting upgrades. Apple is rumored to be planning to add MagSafe, with charging power up to 25 watts. The iPhone 16e had to make do with wireless charging of a maximum of 7.5 watts via Qi and did not have MagSafe.
The rumors also expect a new chip. This will then be the A19 chip that will soon also be found in the regular iPhone 17.

Furthermore, the iPhone 17e probably still only has one camera on the back. The notch would also be present again, so we still won’t see the Dynamic Island on this budget device. Although the rumors don’t entirely agree on that.
iPhone 17e prices
It is expected that Apple will use the same starting prices as the iPhone 16e. This means that you get at least 128 GB with the affordable iPhone. Do you want more storage space? Then you spend more money on the iPhone. These are the expected prices!
- iPhone 17e 128GB: 719 euros;
