iOS 26.4 is coming soon and includes a host of new features, including a major improvement to Personal Hotspot.
Personal hotspot is being improved
There are many people who regularly use an iPad, for example connect with the Internet via their iPhone’s Personal Hotspot. The only thing you have to take into account is the amount of data you use. Fortunately, that is something that will become a lot easier with the arrival of iOS 26.4.
From now on you can see at a glance how much data you have already used. And when you tap on the data usage, a specification will also appear where you can see exactly which device has used how much data.

Here you can see the data usage
You can easily find the data usage in the settings. To do this, follow the steps below:
- Open the Settings app;
- Tap ‘Personal Hotspot’;
- Tap ‘Data usage’ for more information.
Please note that data usage only appears if you have used your hotspot recently. In any other case it is not visible.
You should now see an overview of how much data has been used per device via the hotspot. This is useful for tracking usage on your own devices, or if you regularly let others connect to your hotspot. If you use a hotspot a lot and want to keep a close eye on your data usage, iOS 26.4 offers a convenient way to do that.
It is almost certain that iOS 26.4 will be released in the second half of March 2026. Similar updates previously appeared in the middle or last week of March. A release in the week of March 23 or March 30 is therefore likely. Do you want to be sure you don’t miss anything?
