New electric Porsche Macan on display

The Porsche Macan is still awaiting a second facelift, but a completely new electrically powered next Macan is already waiting in the delivery rooms of Zuffenhausen. This is already partly visible in a photo of a concept car unveiled today.

Sometimes press photos show a new car so prominently in the picture that the surroundings disappear completely. That certainly applies to the Porsche 919 Street, a concept car from Porsche never seen before. It demands all the attention, in one of the many photos that were shared, even though there is much bigger news in a corner in the background. That’s where we see the completely new Macan!

The next Macan is still registered as a clay model, but it is already very clear how it will look. The Macan, due to be released in 2022, has a distinctly different nose than the current one. You can even say that there is some Taycan to recognize. That is not entirely coincidental; the new Macan will also be fully electric. This was already apparent from Porsche’s future plans.

Now you may wonder whether 2022 is not a bit early when Porsche is still working on a facelift for the current Macan. It certainly is, so the expectation is that the new Macan and the current one will be side by side in the showroom for a while. The current one for those who do not yet want to make the switch to electric driving and the new one for those who are ready for it. You bet that the new Macan does not lack convincing power in terms of specifications. After all, it is on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE), a newer base than that of the Taycan. Undoubtedly, this ensures a considerable range, faster charging and performance that many SUVs with a fuel engine are jealous of.

The headline is now off in terms of the teasing for the new Macan, so we expect to see more soon. As said, it will take at least a year to be patient before it is actually in the showroom.
