Mercedes-Benz tests new GLC

Mercedes-Benz is back on the road with the new GLC. Unfortunately for us, the brand’s camouflage department has not become less meticulous in recent months.

After all, it has been almost four months since the new GLC last appeared and then you keep a bit of hope that some patches have already been removed in the meantime. Nothing is less true. The new GLC is still covered from head to toe in a special print that manages to hide the details of the SUV well. Nevertheless, it is already good to see that the new GLC will have a somewhat different design than the current one.

The nose looks distinctly different, with sharper and more elongated headlamps that sit slightly lower in the nose. The nose itself also seems a bit longer and flatter than it is now the case with the GLC. Along the flanks, the GLC also looks a bit more straightforward than now. It no longer seems to be as angular as the GLK, but it all looks a bit more stretched and roughly formed than the current, relatively round GLC. It is no coincidence that it also looks a bit more robust. The GLC is growing somewhat in order to distance itself from the CAP.

Of course, for those who find it all too angular, there will also be a GLC Coupé. The GLC with sloping roofline has just not ventured out as far as we know, so there is a good chance that it will be on the market a bit later than the regular GLC. We are aiming for a revelation well into 2021, with the market launch possibly only in 2022. You bet that electrification plays a major role under the hood and in the powertrain.

Incidentally, there is also good news for those who want to drive fully electric, because in the long run the EQC will also get a successor. It is still somewhat shrouded in mystery. It will probably distance itself more from the GLC than it does now and will be on a different basis specifically intended for BEVs.
