Model year update for Volvo XC60

Volvo is implementing a model year update on the XC60 presented in 2017. The SUV will include the new Android infotainment system, but it will also be renewed externally.

The fully electric Volvo XC40 Recharge was Volvo’s first car to feature the new Android-powered infotainment system, a system that debuted in the Polestar 2. Volvo is now also bringing the new infotainment system to the S90, V90, V90 Cross Country and to the XC60. But there’s more.

The XC60 also benefits from a detailed appearance. The SUV, which is now about four years old, will get a new grille, a new front bumper and Volvo will bring new paint colors and new alloy wheels to the competitor of cars such as the BMW X3 and Audi Q5. It is striking that Volvo includes images of an XC60 P8 Recharge without visible exhaust pipes, although this is probably ‘just’ the plug-in hybrid variant. In addition, Volvo is making available new materials for the interior finish, including the City Weave fabric upholstery that we know from Polestar 2, among others. More hidden news comes in the form of updated security systems. The XC60 gets, just like the S90 and V90, updated radars, cameras and sensors.

Extensive details are not yet available. Volvo does say that the XC60 of model year 2022 will be off the production line from May. Prices and detailed specifications for the Dutch market will follow at a later stage.
