The Dutch coach builder Niels van Roij Design has a firm grip on the shooting brake taste. After the Breadvan Hommage, the company comes with another similar body style. We are presented with the first plates of the Daytona Shooting Brake Hommage.
Commissioned by a customer, Niels van Roij Design recently converted a Ferrari 550 Maranello into the Breadvan Hommage, more or less a modern interpretation of and a tribute to the Ferrari 250 GT SWB Breadvan. The coachbuilder now shows three sketches of what it calls the Daytona Shooting Brake Homage.
Ferrari 365 GTB / 4 Shooting Brake (1975)
The Daytona Shooting Brake seems to be inspired by the 365 GTB / 4 Shooting Brake, a Ferrari 356 GTB / 4 Daytona converted into a Shooting Brake in 1975 by a wealthy customer. It seems that this time it is not a Ferrari 550 Maranello, but a Ferrari 599 GTB that serves as the basis for the special conversion. According to Niels van Roij Design, the Daytona Shooting Brake Hommage will at least get Daytona-like lighting at the front, a revised bonnet, new bumpers, completely new rear lights and of course a further rear window. Good news for those who are charmed by the special upward-hinged extra side windows of the 365 GTB / 4 Shooting Brake: the Daytona Shooting Brake also gets them!
Niels van Roij Design promises to provide regular updates via social channels in the coming period. It is not yet known when the Daytona Shooting Brake Hommage will be ready.
