Official: the new Renault logo

Renault now officially presents the new logo. The latest version of the ‘diamond’ could already be seen on the Renault 5 Prototype in January, thanks to positive feedback, the French decided to use the emblem permanently. The first car will be launched on the market next year.

For Renault, it is the ninth time that the logo has been overhauled since the brand was founded. The most recent variant dates back to 1992, with Renault polishing the logo in 2015, by the way. The new Renault emblem follows a trend that has long been visible in the automotive world: a minimalist and more two-dimensional design. It is most reminiscent of a simplified version of the Renault logo from 1972, which also had various lines. Obviously there is a whole philosophy behind it. According to Gilles Vidal, the brand’s chief designer, the revised logo represents “a balance between recognizing the brand’s heritage and entering a new era, a symbol of the future,” with the added purpose of “transforming the changes currently in operation. “

In 2024, the refreshed emblem will be on all Renaults, next year it will be seen for the first time on the models that are then in the pipeline. It is not clear to Renault which type will receive the changed logo first. It may well be that the production version of the Megane eVision, which is expected to debut later this year, already bears the logo. Renault will also be launching fourteen new models up to and including 2025, half of which are fully electric. By the way, Renault is by no means the only car brand that has given its emblem a different look. Peugeot, Kia, Opel, Toyota, Volkswagen and even Lotus preceded Renault.
