In two steps, it is possible to program Windows 10 to create a system restore point every day.
Restore points are a very interesting feature of Windows because they provide a backup of key system elements. This makes it easy to roll back after installing a problematic device driver or update. If you have a lot of space on your hard drive or SSD, you can schedule a restore point to be created every day. Here are the steps to follow:
1 – Activate the system restore function
- It is first necessary to verify that the system restore is active. In the search box next to the Start menu button, type restoration then click on Create a restore point in the results list.

- In the section of Protection settings, see if the protection is Enabled or Disabled for the unit containing the system (usually C :). If it is Enabled, click on the OK button and go to step 2. Otherwise, click on the unit and then on the button. Configure.

- Click on Activate system protection, then use the slider to adjust the percentage of storage space you want to reserve for restore points.

- Click on the button To apply, then on the button OK. Click the button again OK to close the window.
2 – Activate the automatic creation of restore points
- Use the
+ key sequence and type regedit in the dialog box to launch the registry editor. If a window appears asking to confirm the launch of this program, click on the button OK.

- Click on the small triangle placed to the left of the entry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE to develop its tree structure. Repeat the operation with SOFTWARE, Policies and Microsoft.

- Right click on the entry Windows Defender and, in the drop-down menu, click New then on Key. Change the name of the key by typing Scan and validate with the Enter key.

- Right-click on the Scan key and, in the drop-down menu, click New then on 32-bit DWORD value.

- Type DisableRestorePoint and validate. Check that the key is 0 (in the Data column).

Close the Registry Editor and restart the computer.
