Porsche delivered record number of more than 300,000 cars in 2021

Porsche has not seen the demand for its models decrease despite the corona pandemic and the chip shortage that has played into the hands of it. In fact, Porsche delivered more cars in 2021 than it ever did before!

In 2021, Porsche delivered 301,915 new cars. That is 11 percent more than in 2020 and also a record number for the brand. Never before has Porsche delivered such a large number of new models in one year. It probably won’t surprise you that the Porsche Macan is the car of the brand that is most eagerly sought after. Porsche’s entry-level SUV was sold 88,362 times in 2021. The Macan is closely followed in the sales statistics by big brother Cayenne. Porsche delivered 83,071 copies of these.

The sales results of the sporty EV show that Porsche has shot straight into the sales rose with the electric Taycan. Porsche delivered 41,296 units of the Audi E-tron GT’s brother last year, more than twice as many as in 2020. The 911 is behind the Taycan with 389,464 deliveries. The Panamera family accounted for 30,220 deliveries while the 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman together managed to find 20,502 customers.

Especially in the United States, Porsche did good business. With 70,025 cars, the brand was able to deliver more than 22 percent more cars than in 2022. However, China remains the largest sales market for Porsche. There, Porsche was able to deliver no fewer than 95,671 cars (+8 percent), roughly a third of its entire annual sales. A total of 86,610 new Porsches were delivered in Europe, 7 percent more than in 2020.
