Studio Display, Apple’s new display, is having issues with the macOS 12.3.1 update. iPhoned tells you what’s going on.
Studio Display update issues
In March, Apple released a new display: the Studio Display. The first month, however, did not go smoothly. The display’s internal webcam is not working properly. And now Studio Display owners are also experiencing issues with the update to macOS 12.3.1.
At least fifty users of Apple’s latest display have reported these problems on the Apple Support forum†They all get a message that “the update could not be completed” and that they should “try again in an hour”. If this still doesn’t work, they should contact an Apple Authorized Dealer.

Cause of problems Studio Display unclear
It is not clear or where the problems surrounding the software update come from. Something may go wrong in the server room at Apple. The defect could also be in the firmware of the Studio Display itself.
The solution to all technology problems, turning the Studio Display off and on, doesn’t seem to work either. Some users have therefore already taken their Studio Display to the official repair shops.
Studio Display: fix for camera (and hopefully more)
Apple will soon release a new software update for the Studio Display’s camera. Hopefully, Apple will also solve the problems with the update of macOS for owners of the Apple display.
One owner of a Studio Display had already found a temporary solution. He connected a third-party monitor to his Mac and then installed the macOS update with it.
Do you also have problems with your Apple Display? Or do other Apple products not want to cooperate? Ask your question in the search bar of iPhoned.nl. If the answer isn’t there, Apple also has its own help desk where you can go. We’ve figured out when to contact Apple Support.
