There is yet another hack that allows crooks to steal your WhatsApp account with just one phone call. iPhoned tells you what to look out for and how to keep your account safe!
WhatsApp hack: this is how crooks steal your account
New WhatsApp hacks regularly come to light with which crooks try to steal accounts. Recently, a new WhatsApp hack has been added that tries to gain access to your account.
Once the malicious parties have hijacked the profiles via this new hack, they knock on the door of friends and acquaintances of the victim. Often money is then asked.
The hack works in a very simple way. The scammers first contact the victim by telephone. They then use an excuse to get the victim to contact a certain phone number.
It appears that this number is being used to forward the victim’s phone number to the crooks. Then the victim loses control of the WhatsApp account.
Set up two-step verification in WhatsApp
Fortunately, there is an easy way to make sure that the crooks don’t have a chance to get your account through this hack in WhatsApp. To prevent hacking in WhatsApp, you can quickly set up two-step verification in WhatsApp on your iPhone. With this you set an access code that you have to enter as soon as you want to use WhatsApp on another device.
The code is separate from WhatsApp, making it extra difficult for a hacker to access your data. Setting up the two-step verification in WhatsApp is easily done via the settings of the app.
