Add money to your Apple Account balance

Anyone who owns an iPhone, iPad or Mac undoubtedly also has an Apple Account (Apple ID). This account ensures that you can use iCloud, download apps from the App Store, etc. You can link a debit or credit card to your Apple Account, but you can also manually add money to your Apple Account balance.

With the Apple Account balance you can pay subscriptions, buy apps, expand iCloud storage, etc. If you do not want or cannot link a debit or credit card to your account, you can manually increase the balance via iDeal (NL), Bancontact, etc. (BE) or PayPal.

Add money to your Apple Account balance

  • Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad
  • Navigate to the ‘Today’ tab
  • Tap your profile photo at the top
  • Choose ‘Add money to your account’
  • Choose a desired amount
  • Select a payment method
Add money to your Apple Account balance

On a Mac, you can increase your Apple balance through the Mac App Store. Click your name in the sidebar, then click ‘Account Settings’. Scroll to ‘Apple Account’ and click ‘Add Money’. Do you want to increase your balance via a PC? Then use iTunes and these steps.

Please note, have you already linked a debit or credit card to your account? This payment method will then be used to settle the credit. Don’t have a card linked? You will then see the available payment options.

Pay everything via the balance

Once your money has been added to your account it will be used for all your purchases with your Apple Account. This includes apps, music, subscriptions, films, but also your Apple Music subscription and your iCloud storage. When the amount runs out, you will have to top it up again. It is therefore important that you keep a close eye on this with subscriptions such as Apple One, Apple TV+ or iCloud.
