AirPods are great, but Apple still sells earpods. And they are sometimes even better than the ears without wire. We tell you why.

In addition to its AirPods, Apple also still sells EarPods (this is the wired version of AirPods). Although wireless ears have become incredibly popular, there is also a group of people who swear by ears with wire. A group of Apple fans also prefer a set of ears with cable. But why?

1. The price

Perhaps this is the main reason: the earpods are a lot cheaper than AirPods. The AirPods Pro 2 in particular are quite pricey (€ 214.95), while earpods are often for sale for two tens. This makes these AirPods with thread a budget -friendly choice.

2. Charging is not necessary

Unlike the AirPods, you never have to charge the earpods with wire. That is also useful if you regularly forget to put your earplugs on the charger. Just poke the AirPods in your iPhone and you can listen.

3. Better stability (no problems with Bluetooth)

The AirPods connect to your iPhone via Bluetooth. And that usually works fine. But it can sometimes disturb something. The wired ears are not bothered by that.

4. You will not lose them (almost)

You probably have lost your AirPods. If they accidentally fall out of your ear, they often bounce in all directions. After that it is good to find them again. You can find the ears via the search my app, but it remains annoying.

The earpods with wire of course have less problems with that. If one of the earplugs falls out of your ear, it will of course continue to dangle on the cable. Both earplugs also always stay together thanks to the cable.

5. Less problems with delays

Airpods without wire sometimes suffer from delay. That doesn’t really matter when you’re listening to music. But when gaming it can be rather annoying if the sound comes just a little later than you would expect.

The earpods with a cable are not bothered by that. So when it is important that your sound has no delay, these wired ears are the better choice.

6. Health and Safety

Some people find wired ears more pleasant because they are concerned about the radiation from Bluetooth (even if it is very low and safe according to investigations).

7. Compatibility

The ears work directly with any device that has a Lightning, a USB-C or a 3.5 mm Jack port, depending on the version you have purchased. In addition, you have no whining with making a link or checking the Bluetooth settings.

Still Airpods without wire?

Do you prefer AirPods without wire? Then you still have to choose which AirPods you want. You then have the choice between the AirPods Pro 2 and the AirPods 4 (with or without noise reduction). The AirPods Pro 2 are a bit more expensive, but they also sound a bit better than the AirPods 4.

Do you not want silicone caps and yet noise reduction? Then you have to be with noise reduction at the AirPods 4. Do you not have to reduce noise reduction at all? Then the AirPods 4 without noisecancing are the best for you.
