After the facelift of the BMW 8-series, the Alpina B8 Gran Coupé will also receive a renewal treatment. As with the 8 series, however, you have to look pretty hard for the differences.

The original B8 Gran Coupé was not exactly short-lived. Alpina only unveiled the model in March last year, which means that its lifespan has been limited to just nine months. As with the facelifted 8-series, the refreshed B8 Gran Coupé gets a new grille layout with double bars in a u-shape. The grille is now also illuminated. In addition, Alpina revised the air intakes in the front bumper. The central air inlet under the grille used to have a honeycomb pattern, but now there are two horizontal slats. These are also in the air inlets on either side of the front bumper, which means that they each get one slat compared to the pre-facelift.

Except for the front, the exterior of the B8 Gran Coupé remains unchanged. As with the 8-series, the interior now has a larger 12.3-inch central touchscreen for the iDrive system. However, this can also be operated with a rotary knob on the center console, in the B8 with an engraved Alpina logo. The power plant has been taken over one to one from the previous B8 Gran Coupé: that is still the 4.4 biturbo V8 with 621 hp and 800 Nm of torque. This allows you to launch the B8 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and, if desired, you can continue to an unlimited top speed of 324 km/h. Via a special Alpina exhaust system, the V8 pumps its civilized – after all, that’s what Alpina stands for – roar into the world.

In Germany, the renewed Alpina B8 is available from €162,100 including taxes. In the Netherlands, you can request a quote for an Alpina B8 from Dusseldorp Alpina, but you can count on the Dutch price of the B8 being far above two tons. That’s before you even get started with Alpina’s extensive customization options.
